The purpose of the Analyst role is to build and improve data‑centre expertise that helps Cushman & Wakefield’s Data Centre Group (DCG) deliver full services such as site selection, appraisals, feasibility studies, project and facilities management to sales, leasing and investing.

This role is located in the DCG team of C&W in Kuala Lumpur (KL), Malaysia.

Responsibilities

  • Track and analyse data centre activity in APAC and in your home base of KL, identify trends, growth opportunities and challenges faced by DC firms.

  • Collect and analyse data and publications on the global data centre sector.

  • Assess findings and disseminate across various research outputs for internal and external audiences, including written publications, client presentations, webinars and industry speaking opportunities.

  • Answer informational queries from the regional team (APAC) and serve as a knowledgeable source of truth for data centre insights.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop research proposals that support business development and revenue‑driving opportunities.

  • Coordinate with the global research team in drafting signature biannual and annual reports.

  • Maintain effective communication with DCG and other stakeholders, including participation in regular team meetings.

  • Execute bespoke advisory mandates for clients that may include demand estimations, pricing strategies, financial feasibility, market studies, competitor benchmarking, regulatory and compliance requirements, and more.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, business, finance, economics, or systems management; master’s or other advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of related work experience in data centres, IT or telecommunications.

  • Experience in market research industry is highly regarded but not essential.

  • Data analysis, research, and substantive knowledge of regional and global data centre sector.

  • Fluency in quantitative research methods, including advanced statistical analysis and data collection, manipulation, and management.

  • Demonstrated ability to extract meaningful findings from complex data problems and present results clearly to diverse audiences.

  • Confidence in writing high‑level technical content and public speaking.

  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and adapting to changing priorities.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with proven ability to deliver consistent, quality work within deadlines.

  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels and work as part of a team focused on brand awareness and revenue generation.

  • Experience working with regional and global teams across multiple time zones.
