Overview

Automation Equipment Team Supervisor ( Malaysian and Chinese Teams)

We are seeking an experienced Automation Equipment Team Supervisor to lead and manage our on-site engineering teams in Malaysia and the Chinese region.

The ideal candidate should not only be a technical expert but also an outstanding leader who can drive the team to efficiently complete the installation, commissioning, and customer acceptance of non-standard automation equipment, and ensure customer satisfaction.

You will be the key bridge connecting the company's technical core with on-site execution.

Responsibilities

  1. Team Management and Leadership: Fully responsible for the daily management, work allocation, training, and performance evaluation of the on-site engineering teams in Malaysia and the Chinese region.

    Motivate team members, create a positive collaborative and excellence-seeking team culture, and resolve internal conflicts and challenges within the team.

    Cultivate team leaders and enhance the overall technical depth and problem-solving capabilities of the team.

  2. Project Delivery and On-site Management: Lead and supervise the entire process of on-site installation, assembly, commissioning, and final acceptance (such as SAT, PQ) for multiple non-standard automation projects, ensuring the projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and with high quality.

    As the highest technical person in the field on-site, provide final technical guidance and support decisions for key technical challenges and complex equipment failures.

    Review and approve on-site commissioning plans, equipment improvement measures, and risk assessment reports.

  3. Customer Relationship and Communication: As the main technical liaison window between the company and customers (including those in Malaysia and the Chinese-speaking regions), manage customer expectations and ensure smooth communication.

    Lead the team to conduct systematic training for customer technicians and operators, including equipment operation, maintenance, and basic fault diagnosis.

    Timely feedback on on-site issues and customer needs to the internal R&D and project management teams, promoting continuous improvement of products and services.

  4. Technical Support and Process Optimization: Establish and improve standard operating procedures (SOP) for on-site work, including commissioning norms, safety regulations, and problem reporting mechanisms.

    Utilize profound knowledge in mechanics, electrical engineering, robotics, and vision systems to provide advanced technical training and support to the team.

    Manage on-site spare parts, tools, etc., and optimize resource utilization efficiency.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or above, majoring in mechatronics, electrical engineering and automation, mechanical design and manufacturing and automation, etc.

At least 5 years of experience in non-standard automation equipment field, with at least 2 years as a team leader, project manager, or senior technical mentor, and having experience in managing cross-cultural teams.

Technical Skills: Proficient in the entire process of assembling and commissioning non-standard automation equipment, with profound understanding and practical experience in industrial robots and vision systems.

Proficient in PLC programming and debugging, able to independently review program logic.

Possess excellent mechanical drawing ability (2D/3D), familiar with various mechanical transmission, pneumatic, and servo systems.

Have solid troubleshooting and rapid resolution capabilities for equipment failures, excellent leadership, organization, and coordination skills, and the ability to effectively manage and motivate a multicultural team.

Outstanding communication and customer relationship management skills, fluent in Mandarin, with basic English or Malay language communication skills preferred.

Strong sense of responsibility, ability to handle pressure, and decision-making ability to solve complex problems.
