In 2023, Lendela successfully raised US$5 million in an oversubscribed Series A to scale its unique model across Asia Pacific.

The company’s backers include Singlife co-founder Walter de Oude’s Chocolate Ventures as well as prominent Singapore-based VC firm Cocoon Capital. 

Lendela currently serves customers in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Australia.

Be passionate about solving business problems with data.

Having the ability to think critically during data wrangling and data analysis will be crucial.

You'll be working on raw datasets to build clean, reliable data pipelines.

Exposure to experimentation, analytics tooling, and building dashboards that support day-to-day decisions.

During the contract period, you'll be collaborating cross-functionally with teams like marketing, product, and operations to translate business questions into data problems and communicate insights that drive action.

Your journey: 

Month 1:

• Onboard and learn Lendela’s data infrastructure, systems, and business processes.


• Begin handling stakeholder requests, breaking down business problems and delivering practical data solutions.

Months 2–6:

• Execute assigned projects to improve data infrastructure and support business operations.


• Provide input during brainstorming sessions and deliver actionable insights based on available data.


• Complete defined deliverables within project timelines, ensuring tangible business impact before contract completion.

Requirements for this role

• 2 years experience in data science field, preferably in a startup environment


• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field will be a plus (e.g., data science, analytics, statistics, mathematics).


• Experience in Python or R for data engineering & data analysis; familiarity with SQL and Excel is a plus


• Curious, independent, and comfortable working with ambiguity


• Strong communicator — able to explain data and insights to non-technical stakeholders


• Passionate about using data to solve real-world problems, not just for academic exploration


• The contract period is 6 months and is based in Kuala Lumpur.
