High Voltage Electrical Resident Engineer - Data Center (132kV / 275kV).

Join our team in supporting clients and the General Contractor on construction of critical HV/data center projects, ensuring quality, safety and compliance with contract documents and applicable standards.

Responsibilities

  • Resident Electrical Engineer to report to the Lead Project Manager and provide feedback to the Client.

  • On-site support to assist the Client and General Contractor on construction in a timely manner.

  • Conduct daily site walks to review progress, general quality of works, raise quality observations, and provide updates to the project team.

  • Review the approved Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) developed by the General Contractor and provide direction on quality and design through the Client.

  • Attend project meetings and set up ad-hoc meetings with the GC/Design Consultants and other project stakeholders.

  • Inspect trenches, pits, voids, cable trays/raceways, jointing, panels, and cabling terminations as per the ITP.

  • Provide weekly site progress reports, including metrics on mock-ups/benchmarks, RFIs, and technical status.

  • Ensure equipment installation follows approved shop drawings and technical specifications; prepare Installation Inspection Reports (IIR) for non-conformances and follow up for rectification and close-out.

  • Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) to the General Contractor and coordinate closure with the CM when drawings, shop drawings, or specifications are not complied with; highlight critical risks to the construction schedule.

  • Monitor GC construction activities and log activities in a weekly report; verify work against contract documents and input discrepancies into Procore.

  • Verify As-Built drawings and BIM model are created, updated, and uploaded into Procore by the GC.

  • Attend Client, Architect, and Contractor (OAC) weekly meetings; participate in meetings with input from the CMS representative as required.

  • Coordinate with the GC on the QC Plan and ensure information is up to date in Procore; maintain submittal registers.

  • Assess GC means and methods for compliance with applicable standards; notify the Client of any deficiencies.

  • Evaluate protection during construction for equipment and systems according to the Equipment Protection Plan; ensure the final installed product is ready for commissioning.

  • Record defects/issues as Observations in Procore and communicate safety observations to GCs daily; participate in incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

  • Attend safety committee meetings and coordinate with separate contractors, base building, site developers, and OFCI equipment suppliers to prevent conflicts and maintain schedule.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.

  • 15 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably with data center, substation, or advanced manufacturing projects.

  • High voltage experience of 132 kV and above.

  • Advanced knowledge of electrical systems and project delivery within a global, national, and local standards context.

  • Strong English written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work in a high-performance, cross-functional team with challenging timelines and budgets.

  • Ability to work in a close, multi-faceted team environment and a willingness to learn and mentor others.
