Job description

Job Summary

The role holder will be part of Wealth Management Core Platform Hive and be accountable for delivery of Core Platform hive changes as well as lead/support the achievement of Hive OKRs. As an empowered decision maker, the Product Owner will be accountable for maximising the business value of their product.

The role requires functional and delivery expertise in front to back trade flow of one or more Capital Markets products, with extensive experience in delivering booking and settlement initiatives on core booking platforms.

The candidate must possess at least 10 years of experience in Banking / Wealth Management and have strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Experience in solution design is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for delivering their product's contribution to the Business plan and QPR scorecard
  • Continuous backlog management; expressing backlog items clearly and in a consumable format
  • Optimise value delivery through continuous improvement, gathering feedback from relevant stakeholders/SMEs/customers and prioritisation of backlog
  • Create transparency around backlog item progress, blockers, impediments, dependencies
  • Be a core member of the squad, 100% dedicated to the role
  • Ensure the voices of clients and relevant stakeholders are represented
  • Collaborate with the Scrum Master and squad to build an empowered, high-performing team in a psychologically safe environment
  • Ensure all artefacts and assurance deliverables are per required standards and policies (e.g., nWOWS, CGP)
  • Manage Process Change, Operational and Delivery Risk for their backlog and related risk requirements

Strategy

  • Manage and track execution progress of approved initiatives to drive the Transformation agenda
  • Support the development of the Core Wealth Platform strategic direction and roadmap, aligned with business strategy and investment appetite
  • Work with WM Hive leads to ensure project deliveries are effectively implemented across geographies

Key Responsibilities

  • Business: Maintain strong stakeholder engagement with WM Business, COO/Operations, T&I, Risk & Compliance and Group Internal Audit to ensure alignment and support tribe deliverables
  • Processes: Execute strategy and identify opportunities to streamline operational processes through automation and other initiatives; improve productivity and standardisation; ensure data and analytics support decision-making
  • People & Talent: Model Group values and culture; drive client-centricity, agility and accountability; set metrics and ensure capacity supports client outcomes
  • Risk & Governance: Oversee risk/control governance; maintain end-to-end view of Wealth Management environment; escalate issues and share lessons learned
  • Governance: Adhere to policies and control standards; ensure compliance within risk tolerance; collaborate with control functions to achieve governance outcomes
  • Regulatory & Business Conduct: Display exemplary conduct, embed ethics and regulatory compliance; identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters

Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 10 years of experience in a financial institution, preferably in Retail Clients / Wealth Management
  • Understanding of and delivery under Agile framework
  • Strong financial management capabilities: budget tracking, planning, forecast and variance explanations
  • Strong understanding of Risk and Controls; ability to identify and mitigate emerging risk with client focus
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills: networking, negotiation and influencing
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver on multiple deadlines
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Product Management certifications (e.g., SAFe Product Owner/PM, CSPO) preferred
