About the Role

As a Senior Business Analyst in the data team, you will provide expert levels of Business Analysis capability and techniques, translating business needs into actionable requirements, guiding teams through the project lifecycle, and ensuring successful business outcomes.

Maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, you will facilitate clear communication, address challenges, and drive alignment across the business.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, such as data engineers, engineering managers, product managers, architects and data solution designers as you lead iterative delivery of data-driven initiatives.

This role provides extensive exposure across the organization, offering valuable opportunities to gain deep insights into the full scope of our business operations.

About the Team

This role will be placed within the Data team, which is part of SEEKs Technology division.

The Data team supports and maintains the platform where SEEKs data is hosted on, build data products that are used by business units across SEEK and provide Data Management and Privacy guidance for safe usage of SEEKs data.

Reporting to the Data Engagement Manager, you will be an integral member of the wider Data Services team, collaborating on a diverse range of use-cases across all part of SEEK.

Your key stakeholders would include, but not limited to, individuals across Sales and Service, Finance, Marketing, Product and AI & Platform, Online Engineering Teams in Hirer, Candidate and Platform domains across APAC.

Your peers would be Data Engineering Managers, Data Engineers and Data Solution designers, across all levels of experience.

Key Accountabilities

The following are key responsibilities the position will be accountable for on a day-to-day basis:

• Engage with key stakeholders to establish initiative scope, objectives, deliverables, and contribute to validating requirements and gathering feedback throughout the lifecycle.
  
  
• Drive the process of gathering and documenting business requirements, managing the relevant SEEK business partners and engineering teams to balance business aspirations with value generated for SEEK.
  
  
• Contribute to solution design based on business requirements while assessing and validating proposed solutions to ensure they address stakeholder needs and deliver measurable value.
  
  
• Lead and manage the delivery of multiple complex initiatives, ensuring all business analysis activities are aligned with initiative goals and deliver results.
  
  
• Facilitate change management processes to ensure smooth transition and adoption of new systems or processes.
  
  
• Lead risk analysis for complex initiatives, developing mitigation plans and ensuring risk is communicated effectively to stakeholders.
  
  
• Foster effective communication and collaboration across teams, ensuring smooth and successful initiative delivery.
  
  
• Support Data Services in communications opportunities such as steerco deck, newsletter writing, project status reporting and other stakeholder reporting.
  
  

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Expert in conducting detailed business analysis, managing complex requirements, and driving initiative goals.
  
  
• Expertise in leading multiple iterations, ensuring smooth project delivery and continuous improvement.
  
  
• Strong skills in managing relationships with stakeholders to ensure clear communication, alignment, and expectation management throughout the project lifecycle.
  
  
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, adept at leading workshops and high-level stakeholder discussions.
  
  
• Strong analytical skills with experience solving complex business problems using data-driven approaches.
  
  
• Ability to think creatively and introduce innovative solutions to complex business problems.
  
  
• Experience in leading data-driven initiatives across multiple domains with significant impact.
  
  
• Experience in supporting change management processes, ensuring smooth transitions during the implementation of new systems or processes.
  
  
• Demonstrated ability to align business analysis with strategic business goals.
  
  
• Skills in navigating and managing highly complex stakeholder expectations, dynamics and conflicts
• Experience in working with teams and stakeholders across Asia & ANZ.
  
  
• 8+ years’ experience working in a Business Analyst capacity

Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

• Familiarity in SQL, AWS cloud services and platform
• Understanding of data pipelines, ETL process and data integration tools such as Airflow, Databricks or similar
• Prior experience working in online marketplace businesses would be considered ideal
• Basic know-how of data visualisation and BI tools like Tableau.
  
  
• Experience in working with data team on data-driven / data-enabled initiatives.
  
  
• Expertise in managing enterprise-level initiatives, ensuring alignment with business strategy and ability to influence senior leadership.
  
  
• Experience in managing large, complex initiatives with multiple dependencies and stakeholders.
  
  

Other Qualifications, Skills, Attributes and Experience

• Demonstrate strong alignment to ‘Our SEEK’ culture principles
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline would be ideal
• Prior experience in one of the following areas would be highly regarded:
  • Software Development/Engineering
  • IT Service Management or IT Business Analysis/Iteration Management
