Job Description
The Senior Engineer, Data Analytics plays a crucial role in leveraging advanced analytics to drive engineering excellence and innovation.
This position requires a strategic mindset and technical expertise to transform complex data into actionable insights.
- Conduct comprehensive analyses of problem statements and business opportunities to identify and implement Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Rigorously collect, cleanse, and analyze data from engineering systems, including sensors, machinery, and control systems, to uncover critical trends, anomalies, and areas for operational improvement.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated dashboards, visualizations, and reports to effectively communicate data-driven insights to engineering teams and executive leadership, facilitating informed decision-making.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of advanced data models designed to predict system behavior, optimize performance metrics, and minimize downtime across engineering operations.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration to seamlessly integrate data analytics methodologies into key engineering workflows, encompassing automation, manufacturing processes, and product development cycles.
- Spearhead the design and execution of rigorous experiments to validate hypotheses and enhance system efficiency through data-driven methodologies, ensuring scientific rigor and statistical validity.
- Continuously evaluate and implement emerging tools and techniques in the field of data analytics to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge in engineering processes.
Qualifications
- Master in Mechatronic, Computer Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Engineering or Data Science.
- Strong academic background in data analysis, statistics, or engineering systems (coursework or projects in data science, machine learning, or signal processing is a plus).
- Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Python (e.g., Pandas, NumPy), R, MATLAB, or Excel; familiarity with SQL or visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of electrical or mechanical systems, such as circuits, sensors, or machinery, and how they generate data.
- Analytical mindset with a curiosity for uncovering insights from complex datasets.
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies and methods.
- Effective communication skills to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
