The Intel Programmable Solutions Group (PSG) is now Altera, an Intel Company.

Altera prioritizes customers with end-to-end FPGAs, accessible AI, software, and supply resilience.

In Q4 2023, Intel announced PSG will be reported as a separate business unit beginning on January 1, 2024, with ongoing support from Intel.

This position is associated to that standalone business strategy and is expected to fully transition to a standalone company at some time in the future.

Specifically, you will be part of Altera Programmable Software and Solutions (PSaS) DevOps Team (also known as SPES).

A special Team within SPES is gearing to undertake a major software re-architecture to microservices (MACH) driven designs for its monolithic applications.



Special Message: This is not a role for an expert or developer specialist in microservices or MACH design and development.

This is a role for a candidate who is willing to gain new skills and experiences in MACH.

However, the expectation is you must be willing to unlearn and relearn.

More importantly, you must have a curiosity at the least and ability to visualize a career path in this role.

Microservices architecture is an approach where an application is built as a collection of loosely coupled and independently deployable services.

As a microservices developer, you are required to build software systems that have well-defined interfaces based on abstraction priciples and domain models.

The candidate will have to write modular and reusable code.

Qualifications


�Bachelor's/Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field
�At least 3-5+ years of experience building large scale software applications
�Experience in SQL including but not limited to SQL databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases like MongoDB and Cassandra
�Experience with API design, including RESTful APIs, is a must-have
�Proficient in programming languages such as .Net/C#, Java, Python, NodeJS, and Go
�Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
�Practical knowledge of microservices patterns and principles.

This includes concepts like service discovery, circuit breaker, API gateway, and decentralized data management.

In addition to these skills, one or more of the following will be an added advantage
�Test-driven-development (TDD) background and quality mindset is a plus
�Beginner to intermediate experience in developing Git based CI/CD solutions and contributing changes to CI pipelines
�GitHub experience: using GitHub's management tools to organize and share code repositories created with Git
�Full-Stack exposure - having exposure to every aspect of an enterprise cloud solution
�Experience in Cloud application development such as building and publishing containers, deploying containers to Kubernetes, uServices architectures
�Basic knowledge on domain-driven design (DDD), understands the benefits and challenges
